Challenge
A large organization needed a repeatable process to identify systemic performance gaps and determine how changes in structure, resources, and processes could improve performance.

Action
Florentum’s founder developed and applied an enterprise performance-analysis process using structured planning and Lean Six Sigma techniques to identify root causes, capability gaps, and executable options for improvement.

Result
The analyses identified more than 90 performance gaps, informed multiple senior-leader organizational decisions, supported resource programming realignments, and won $2M in additional funding to address identified capability gaps.

Challenge
A complex, distributed program required coordinated performance across more than 60 professionals while balancing customer priorities, workforce performance, contractual requirements, and changing needs.

Action
Florentum’s founder led four project managers and more than 60 professionals across multiple work areas, managing workforce performance, maintaining direct customer engagement, and aligning team execution with contractual requirements and customer priorities.

More than 30 years of experience. Directly engaged in every project.

Tom Mahoney brings extensive experience in executive leadership, strategic planning, organizational design, and complex program delivery to every Florentum engagement.

His career has centered on helping leaders understand difficult problems, align organizations and resources, improve performance, and turn strategy into execution across government, nonprofit, and private-sector environments.

As a small consultancy, Florentum offers something larger firms often cannot: clients work directly with the principal doing the work. From understanding the challenge through developing and implementing the solution, Tom remains personally engaged from start to finish.
